With the implementation of the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP-a-30), in the city of Belém (PA), in the year of 2025 can be a key to the representation of the peoples and traditional communities all over the country on the agenda of international climate. With this in mind, it was carried out in the Workshop, PCTs, and the Climate, the purpose of which was to discuss the construction of a policy on climate change and the opportunities for participation of people and communities, bringing in representatives from the state of Mato Grosso. The activity was promoted in the 16th and 17th of October, up by From, ICV, and OPAN, brought together more than 10 organizations in the state, Cuiabá (MT).

The indigenous movements as a reference point for participation in social activities
By sharing your experience with the struggles of indigenous movements on the climate agenda, the president of the territorial and environmental management of the Indigenous Council of Roraima (CIR), Sinéia of the Valley, he participated virtually in the shop. COP 30 in Brazil
For the first time, the COP will be held in Brazil, more precisely in the territory of the amazon. The co-ordinator of the Rights of Indigenous people in the OPAN, Andreas Fanzeres, he explained that the Workshop PCTS and the Weather came just in the idea of the preparation and training of representatives of the state of Mato Grosso, the focus is on a better impact on the COP’s-30’s. “It’s an achievement to see that we have been able to meet so many people willing to join in the struggle for the involvement of the PCTs in the schedule to the weather. We have been able to listen to those who are already in the fight, exchanging knowledge, and build it up to new possibilities. This is a first step, an initial discussion of the many that are still going to do it. The COP’s-30’s is a major opportunity for such a discussion, and we have to get out of this,” he stressed.
