Almost 10 years ago, before they even become officially recognized as a Collective, managers, and manejadoras de arapaima in the Amazon river takes you to the forums and meetings, again and again, the need for more oversight over the territories, and claims that they may be recognized by the environmental services that they provide to the country. These services are deeply rooted in their traditional way of life, and in compliance with the rules for the sustainable management of the pirarucu, generating benefits of a systemic and long-lasting for the whole of society.

We need to listen, and to mobilize all of our institutions, and turn to our peers for people to think about solutions,” he reflected, Lara, Montenegro, the coordinator of the Strategy, the Indigenous Peoples of the Policy on Drugs and crime of the Secretariat of the National Policy On Drugs and crime (Senad/MJSP).
